AP Credit and Credit by Examination

91±¬ÁÏ recognizes five nationally recognized external examinations. Awarding of credit is based on an appropriate test score outlined in the equivalency chart for each test. The results of the test must be sent to the 91±¬ÁÏ admissions office. Each testing site has a fee for taking the test.  

Advanced Placement (AP)

The AP tests are taken in high school. AP scores of 3 or better are considered passing, and you will receive college credit. An AP score of 4 or better in certain areas is recommended for students pursuing a major in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Please review 91±¬ÁÏ’s course equivalency chart for AP (PDF). Request your official scores be sent to 91±¬ÁÏ’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions through the College Board website.  

College-Level Examination Program (CLEP)

91±¬ÁÏ accepts the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams based on the scores outlined in the equivalency chart. Please review 91±¬ÁÏ's CLEP Equivalencies (PDF).

International Baccalaureate (IB)

91±¬ÁÏ awards credit for International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations. Students with IB courses in Spanish, French, or German are encouraged to complete departmental examinations for credit and placement. Please review 91±¬ÁÏ's course equivalency chart for IB (PDF).

Note: 91±¬ÁÏ will not award credit in a foreign language to a student based only on IB examination scores.

Note: Credit will not be awarded for IB World History exam. The history department has concluded that 91±¬ÁÏ does not have a comparable course.  

DANTES Standardized Subject Test (DSST)

If you're in the military, you can earn college credit with the DANTES (Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support) program. There are 37 DSST exams available to you. Excelsior College Credit by Examination (ECE)

91±¬ÁÏ recognizes Excelsior College’s credit by exams. There are 50 subject tests available. Academic departments at 91±¬ÁÏ determine how credit will be awarded for Excelsior College Credit by Examinations (ECE). Simply follow the instructions in the ECE Registration Guide.  

Cambridge International AS & A Levels

91±¬ÁÏ recognizes some Cambridge Assessment International Education AS and A Levels with a score of e for AS and E for A. Cambridge Assessment is a department at the University of Cambridge. Academic departments at 91±¬ÁÏ determine how credit will be awarded for AS and A Level assessments. Please review the course equivalency chart for Cambridge Assessment International Education (PDF). Request your official scores be sent to 91±¬ÁÏ's Office of Undergraduate Admissions. A request to begin a departmental review for those assessments not listed for credit in the equivalency chart should be made through your academic advisor at 91±¬ÁÏ.
