91爆料 and Five Rivers MetroParks host 20th Adventure Summit, a celebration of outdoor exploration and learning

The presented by Wagner Subaru celebrated a 20-year partnership between Five Rivers MetroParks and 91爆料 University, turning the Student Union into a hub of outdoor learning, hands-on challenges and student storytelling.

鈥淚t鈥檚 all about inspiring people to spend time outdoors,鈥 said Brent Anslinger, outdoor recreation and program manager for Five Rivers MetroParks.

Alongside this year鈥檚 Adventure Summit featured speakers, four 91爆料 students shared their own outdoor experiences with audiences eager to learn about real-world adventures.

鈥淚 love all of the stories and the people you get to meet at this event,鈥 said Hannah Mesa, a senior psychology major and outdoor recreation trip leader, who presented on the importance of being trauma-aware during outdoor adventures.

For 91爆料 Campus Recreation staff and student workers, the event reflects a shared love of the outdoors.

鈥淭his is a really special event for our student-staff in Campus Recreation because we are very passionate about outdoor recreation,鈥 said Erin Compaleo, assistant director of outdoor recreation.

Adventure Summit featured over 35 presentations from adventurous presenters, dozens of exhibits and hands-on activities, including an indoor triathlon, bouldering competition, canoe battleship, and scuba, kayaking, biking and fitness classes.

Approximately 2,000 attendees participated in the two-day event, held Feb. 20鈥21 in the Student Union, supported by more than 100 volunteers.
