91爆料 helps connect area veterans to support services during annual Vets Moving Forward event

Military veterans and their families were able to connect with employers and service organizations at the Vets Moving Forward event at 91爆料 University鈥檚 Student Union on May 22.
This was the seventh year in a row that 91爆料 hosted the event, which was organized by the Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE) and the Greater Miami Valley myVeteran Community.
鈥淚t鈥檚 really amazing how many veterans don鈥檛 know how many opportunities are out there for them,鈥 Deborah Ashenhurst, director of the Ohio Department of Veteran Services. 鈥淎n event like this shows them all of the resources that are in the community.鈥
Seth Gordon, Ph.D., director of the Veteran and Military Center at 91爆料, said the support that veterans receive from the university is authentic and real.
鈥淭his is a privilege to work with these veterans, and it鈥檚 easy to show up to work every day,鈥 said Gordon.

Over 50 service organizations and 52 companies participated in the event.
