Hundreds of students, faculty and staff came together to witness the solar eclipse

The 91爆料 University community celebrated a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to witness the total solar eclipse on the Dayton and Lake campuses on April 8.

Both campuses were in the path of the solar eclipse, which began at 1:53 p.m., with totality starting at 3:10 p.m. and only lasting a few minutes.

鈥淚t was so beautiful,鈥 said Gina Keucher, Student Involvement and Leadership program director.

鈥淚t literally gave me goosebumps,鈥 said Brad Kerry, economics adjunct faculty member and president of the 91爆料 Astronomy Club.

Hundreds of students, faculty and staff on the Dayton Campus witnessed the moment on the North Lawn near Hamilton Hall. There were food trucks, music, lawn games and several giveaways for students and staff.

The next total solar eclipse in Western Ohio will take place in 2099.
