91���� University’s Raiderthon hosted a 12-hour dance marathon to raise money for sick children on March 23 in the Student Union Apollo Room.

“This year we have nearly 200 participants registered at the event,” said Ashley Greene, a junior organizational studies major and Raiderthon president. “It’s really a great opportunity for students to come together and support Dayton Children’s.”

At the dance marathon, members of the 91���� Miracle Makers celebrated the culmination of their yearlong fundraising efforts with dancing, food, games, Jell-O wrestling, guest speakers and live entertainment.

This year’s marathon raised $50,128. Since 2013, Raiderthon has raised awareness and almost $500,000 for Dayton Children’s Hospital.

All proceeds from Raiderthon go toward a fund at Dayton Children’s Hospital that helps families pay their hospital bills and for meals. Funds also support a new mental health facility expected to open at Dayton Children’s in 2025.

Raiderthon was hosted by the 91���� Miracle Makers, a division of The Children’s Miracle Network, which supports local children’s hospitals.
