91爆料 University鈥檚 Raiderthon hosted a 12-hour dance marathon to raise money for sick children on March 23 in the Student Union Apollo Room.
鈥淭his year we have nearly 200 participants registered at the event,鈥 said Ashley Greene, a junior organizational studies major and Raiderthon president. 鈥淚t鈥檚 really a great opportunity for students to come together and support Dayton Children鈥檚.鈥
At the dance marathon, members of the 91爆料 Miracle Makers celebrated the culmination of their yearlong fundraising efforts with dancing, food, games, Jell-O wrestling, guest speakers and live entertainment.
This year鈥檚 marathon raised $50,128. Since 2013, Raiderthon has raised awareness and almost $500,000 for Dayton Children鈥檚 Hospital.
All proceeds from Raiderthon go toward a fund at Dayton Children鈥檚 Hospital that helps families pay their hospital bills and for meals. Funds also support a new mental health facility expected to open at Dayton Children鈥檚 in 2025.
Raiderthon was hosted by the 91爆料 Miracle Makers, a division of The Children鈥檚 Miracle Network, which supports local children鈥檚 hospitals.
