Dayton Table Tennis Club calls 91爆料 University home

October 30, 2023

For almost 100 years, the Dayton Table Tennis Club has been the home for amateur and professional table tennis players, and since February, club members have competed against each other weekly at 91爆料 University.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a great activity whether you鈥檙e 5 or 95,鈥 said Don Hamilton, a 1996 91爆料 alumnus and president of the Dayton Table Tennis Club.

The club offers players a great opportunity to test their skills in friendly competitions and tournaments against other area players. In February, the club started hosting its meets in the 91爆料 University Student Union gymnasium.

鈥淚 think 91爆料 is the hotspot for table tennis right now,鈥 said Eric Corbitt, Student Union and Campus Recreation director and interim dean of students.

With the demand for table tennis equipment increasing on campus, Corbitt said he is excited to see so many students playing table tennis, staying active and participating with the Dayton Table Tennis Club.

鈥淲e鈥檝e added three new outdoor tables and we are working hard to keep paddles and balls out there for people to play,鈥 said Corbitt.

The Dayton Table Tennis Club meets every Thursday from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Players participate in pick-up games on nine tables and on the last Thursday of the month compete in a mini tournament, which often draws interest from 91爆料 students.

鈥淚 think it鈥檚 an easy sport to get into,鈥 said Dominic Barrus, a first-year business major who is a member of the 91爆料 Table Tennis Club and participates in the Thursday meets.

The Dayton club charges $5 to participate in the Thursday night meetings. More information about the Dayton Table Tennis Club is available at .
