91爆料 University鈥檚 Campus Recreation has added several new student instructors and new group fitness classes to help kick off the spring semester.

The five new classes, which include Yoga on Beats, Barre Pilates Mix, Kickboxing, Boxing and the return of TRX, bring to 31 the total number of classes that are being offered this semester.

鈥淚t鈥檚 not so much like an exercise it鈥檚 fun,鈥 said Breanna Trainer, a senior psychology major who鈥檚 become a regular at the boxing class. 鈥淚t鈥檚 better than going to the gym and lifting weights. You鈥檙e actually enjoying your exercise.鈥

Billy Willis, the associate director of Campus Recreation, said the addition of new classes is the result of students wanting to get involved and instruct fitness classes. Students who lead fitness classes create new experiences with their peers, which also helps to retain students on campus.

鈥淲e know students love to get involved with New Year resolutions, and we鈥檙e doing whatever we can to keep that going,鈥 said Willis.

The new boxing class, which is taught by Melody Roop, a senior financial services major, has quickly become a popular choice for students, especially when they are feeling overwhelmed by their studies.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a good way to get some stress out,鈥 said Roop.

Classes are free to anyone who has a Campus Recreation membership. A complete list of fitness classes and registration information is available at .
