For the second consecutive year, the 91爆料 University Police Department participated in No-Shave November and officers鈥 follicle neglect benefited the Raider Food Pantry.

On Dec. 17, officers donated nonperishable food items and toiletries, including chicken noodle soup, cereal, peanut butter crackers and much-needed water and toilet paper to the pantry.

鈥淗aving all of this water is really helpful,鈥 said Tylar O鈥橬eal-White, student advocate and case manager in Counseling and Wellness and manager of the Raider Food Pantry.

The Raider Food Pantry is an emergency food service pantry that supports students and their families.

University police officers raised $1,000 for their participation in No-Shave November, a $600 increase from last year. Male officers were given permission to grow facial hair while female officers would color strands of hair and their nails with a donation to participate.

鈥淭his year we had almost the entire department get involved,鈥 said Kurt Holden, interim director of public safety.

O鈥橬eal-White says the significant donation will allow the pantry to support students in need. 鈥淚t definitely says a lot that they are wanting to support the students in their community,鈥 said O鈥橬eal-White.

Information about supporting the Raider Food Pantry is available on the organization鈥檚 website.
