If you’re thinking about attending 91���� University, check out on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., beginning in the Student Union.

“I felt like Raider Open House was the tipping point, where I decided that this was where I wanted to come,” said Emily Howard, a sophomore majoring in sports science who attended Raider Open House when she was in high school. “I had the opportunity to see what my future as a Raider would be like because of this event.”

Howard is one of the many 91���� students who will welcome prospective students and give campus tours at Raider Open House. The event gives prospective undergraduate students, including transfer students, and their families a glimpse of all that 91���� has to offer.

Future Raiders will learn about the 150 academic programs, financial aid, housing, student life, the University Honors program and much more. Numerous information sessions and campus tours will be offered at various times during the open house to allow people to personalize their experience and learn more about the topics that interest them most.

Breakout sessions will provide in-depth information about academic colleges and departments. Some sessions will include academic building tours, project demonstrations or other interactive activities. Students can talk with faculty members about their academic goals and interests. Those undecided about a major can attend a presentation on exploring career options with staff from the Division of Student Success.

Financial aid staff will be available to assist prospective students with filing their Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) during the FAFSA Workshop, open from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Lower Atrium of the Student Union.

There’s even a Transfer Student Breakfast at 8:30 a.m., as well as a special presentation called Transferring to 91���� 101, where students can learn about transferring college credit.

Attendees can explore campus and housing options through the eyes of their tour guide, a current 91���� student. They will see interactive classrooms, the convenient tunnel system that links most buildings on campus, as well as some of the largest college dorms in the state.

“My main goal is to have the same impact on students that the admissions ambassadors had on me,” said Howard. “I want to show them what it’s like to be a student at 91����, whether it’s sharing my personal experiences or answering questions about 91���� or college in general.”

91���� Admissions staff members will help future students fill out an application for admission at the open house. Attendees can also learn about maximizing earning college credits while still in high school.

Parents and students can also learn about 91����’s tuition guarantee program that will enable students and families to more confidently plan their finances and provide an incentive for graduating on time. It locks in the same annual cost of tuition, housing and dining over a four-year college career for newly admitted, degree-seeking undergraduate students who are Ohio residents.

One of the highlights of the open house is the Resource Fair, where attendees can enjoy one-on-one conversations with faculty, staff and students from academic colleges and student services offices at their leisure.
